As our family gets older, we find that it is most helpful to have info online that can assist them to locate facts and suggestions as to how to handle their eye health.
Of course, we’re not eye doctors! So the information on this site is provided as a free service. You agree that we are not eye doctors and that you are entirely responsible for your own eye health.
You must have and visit your own doctor and have them diagnose any eye conditions or diseases you may have.
My personal story arose as I have aged. I spend much of my time on a computer, and have for nearly 20 years. About 5 years into my work in the computer business, I began to suffer considerable blurring of vision at reading distances.
My eye vision got worse by the month.
I finally purchased a set of cheap magnifiers at a local drug store and wow….instantly I could see while reading or working on the computer.
So off to the eye doctor I went.
It turns out that at the ripe young age of 29 years old, I had Presbyopia. Already!
Presbyopia is an age-related loss of flexibility in the eye lens.
I also had Hyperopia, which is farsightedness.
As I’ve arrived at the golden age of 48, matters have only worsened.
In addition, two years ago, my father developed cataract in one of his eyes. Surgery was necessary and has successfully restored his eyesight to near 100%.
The study of the eye is far reaching and science and medicine are still learning about it.
I hope to present lots of info here to help you learn about your eyes, their health, disorders and eye diseases.
Best of luck to you in your eye research endeavors.
Regards,
Hank
